NEW DELHI: Cricket enthusiasts planning to attend the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, on Sunday should anticipate heavy traffic congestion and potential delays in and around the venue.With the match set to begin at 3.30pm, a large turnout is expected. To manage the increased vehicular flow and ensure public safety, traffic diversions and restrictions are likely to be implemented around the stadium.While no formal traffic advisory has been issued as of now, commuters especially those not attending the match are strongly advised to plan their routes in advance and avoid the vicinity of the stadium during peak hours.Traffic diversions (based on previous protocols):
  • Traffic approaching University Gate towards University Mode (Tonk Road) will be diverted from Janta Store via alternate routes.
  • In case of congestion on Tonk Road, non-spectator traffic will be diverted from Gandhinagar Mode towards Gandhi Circle, RBI Cut, and onwards to Ganesh Temple.
  • Vehicles from JDA Circle to Rambagh Circle (excluding spectators) may be diverted to Gandhi Circle and Trimurti Circle during high traffic.
  • Traffic from Statue Circle to Polo Circle (non-spectator vehicles) will be rerouted via parallel roads if needed.
  • Roads between Pankaj Singhvi Marg and Vidhan Sabha Tiraaha may also see diversions.
  • Rajasthan Roadways buses will operate via Narayan Singh Tiraaha, Prithviraj T-Point, Prithviraj Road, Statue Circle, Park Prime, and Cham House Circle.
Parking restrictions:Parking will not be allowed on the following roads during match hours:
  1. Tonk Road (Gandhinagar Mode to Narayan Singh Tiraaha)
  2. Bhawani Singh Road (Rambagh Circle to 22 Godam Circle)
  3. Janpath (Statue Circle to Vidhan Sabha Tiraaha)
  4. Pankaj Singhvi Marg (Vidhan Sabha Tiraaha to Fruit Mandi Cut and up to Tonk Road)
Entry of heavy vehicles into Jaipur city will be restricted until the match concludes.Designated parking for spectators:
  • VIP vehicles will be accommodated inside the stadium premises, specifically in the South Block.
  • Vehicles with valid passes entering through the South Gate will be directed to park at the Football and Archery Grounds.
  • Spectators entering via the East Gate can park at the designated area near Subodh School/College Ground, Rambagh.
  • Those entering through the North Gate should use the SMS Investment Ground, located near Ambedkar Circle.
  • Entry through the West Gate will lead spectators to the designated parking zone at Amroodon Ka Bagh.

ll vehicles will exit via Kathputli Road after the match. Ambulances and essential service vehicles will have unrestricted access throughout.Roads likely to be congested:The main roads expected to experience heavy traffic during the cricket match are Tonk Road (from Gandhinagar Mod to Narayan Singh T-junction), Bhawani Singh Road (from JDA Circle to Rambagh Circle, Polo Circle, and up to 22 Godam), Bhagwan Das Road (from Statue Circle to Polo Circle), Janpath, Pankaj Singhvi Road, and Kathputli Road.
