NEW DELHI: Sanju Samson scored his first T20I century in the third game against Bangladesh on Saturday. Samson hit eight sixes and 11 fours in his 111 runs off 47 balls. His century came in just 40 balls, making it the second-fastest T20I century by an Indian player.
Samson's performance helped India reach a total of 297/6, their highest-ever in T20I cricket and the second-highest overall.

Sanju Samson's maiden T20I hundred led India to a massive 133-run victory and a series sweep against Bangladesh. Supported by Suryakumar Yadav's 75, India posted an imposing 297/6. Impressive performances by bowlers Mayank Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi ensured Bangladesh's defeat as the visitors finished at 164/7.
Reflecting on his achievement, Samson admitted, “I can do much better,” indicating his desire to improve further.

"(I am) very happy that they (teammates) are happy I did well. It can get frustrating knowing what you can do out there, and I have also felt I can do much better," he said during the presentation ceremony after India's 3-0 series win with a 133-run hammering of Bangladesh in the third and final T20I.

Sanju Samson hit India's second-fastest T20I century, scoring 111 off 47 balls, leading India to a total of 297/6 against Bangladesh. This stands as their highest T20I score and the second-highest overall. Supported by Suryakumar Yadav's 75 and explosive contributions from Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag, India shattered multiple records in Hyderabad.

"But, with playing so many games I know how do deal with pressure and my failures because I have failed a lot. Just focus was on process and knowing you will do well.


"Playing for your country, that pressure was there, but I wanted to perform and wanted to show. But I still kept it basic and wanted to take it by one ball (at a time)."

Struggling Sanju Samson regained his form by scoring his maiden T20I century in just 40 balls against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. This performance surpasses Suryakumar Yadav's previous record and brings Samson closer to securing a regular spot in India's T20I team. Rohit Sharma still holds the fastest T20I hundred record, shared with David Miller.

Samson said he has got the full backing of the team leadership.


"The leadership tells me they back me no matter what... not just in words but in actions also," he said.
