Gurucharan Singh, widely recognized for portraying Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, recently shared his first experience traveling on the Mumbai Metro via Instagram. In a selfie video recorded inside the Mumbai Metro, Gurucharan gave viewers a glimpse of one of the metro stations as he exited the train.
He enthusiastically remarked, "Dosto, aaj metro mei pehli baar safar kiya hai Mumbai mei.
Maza aaya, wow kya baat hai. Yaha Inorbit mall bhi hai peeche. Maza aagaya. Delhi mei toh bahut safar kiya tha, aaj Mumbai metro mei." (Friends, today I traveled in the Mumbai metro for the first time. It was so much fun. I can see Inorbit Mall behind me. I have traveled extensively in the Delhi metro, but this is my first time in the Mumbai metro.)
The actor had previously made headlines after going missing for over a month. Upon his return, he revealed that he had embarked on a spiritual journey. On July 16th, Gurucharan also met with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumarr Modi, who spoke about their reunion. In an interview with ETimes TV, Asit Modi shared, "For me, Sodhi is like family. He was part of our team for a long time. Even after leaving the show for personal reasons, he always made time to meet me whenever he visited Mumbai."
He added, "I was concerned about him due to what had happened recently, so I reached out to him. He visited our office today, and we had a heartfelt conversation. I wished him the best for his future." Gurucharan Singh had exited Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2020, with Balvinder Singh Suri stepping in as the new Roshan Sodhi. There had been reports that the show's creators were considering bringing back the original Sodhi, as the audience hadn’t fully accepted the new portrayal.
