The monsoon has intensified, bringing heavy rainfall to Maharashtra and neighbouring regions due to cyclonic circulation. The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for several districts, including Mumbai and Pune. Other states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Gujarat are also experiencing significant rainfall. Residents should prepare for continued downpours and potential disruptions. Read less

Along with Maharashtra, some more states are bracing for significant rainfall. As per IMD reports, significant rainfall has happened in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, West Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. If reports are to go by, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will continue to experience intense rains in the coming days. Meteorologists have predicted more adverse weather conditions due to recent cyclonic activity.
But don't start celebrating yet, as it is also reported that Delhi will start to experience hotter weather after September 29, with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius.

Coming back to monsoon, IMD as issued an orange alert for eastern Uttar Pradesh. If reports are to go by, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the area. There is also a yellow alert for heavy rainfall for Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Madhya Pradesh, Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected for parts of northeast India, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha in the next 24 hours.

September usually is the time for the monsoon rains to calm down, but that's not the case this year, so if you have any immediate travel plans for the aforementioned places, it's important to check the local weather condition before heading out. Monsoon activity is clearly intensifying in several parts of the country. Several places in Maharashtra are currently facing localised flooding, There is a potential for further disruptions, so travel carefully if you must.
